Health Systems Management
Health Systems Management's (HSM) Patient Advocacy program is one of LMHCC's most exciting programs. This program helps patients and their families receive the information to make informed health care decisions.
If your Taft Hartley Fund, Union or employer has a contractual relationship with Health Systems Management, you and your family members can use this resource as often as needed. There is no charge to you and no extra charge to your Fund or employer.
Use of this resource is totally voluntary and confidential. Clinical advocates are available to help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Staff are experienced professionals with decades of experience in all aspects of health care delivery, management and research.
HSM's principals and medical staff are Nationally known for their experience, publications and expertise in improving health care quality. Quality health care is cost effective. Rework, including infections, complications, misdiagnoses, and other problems are very expensive.
Health Systems Management's patient advocacy program is unique. The company is a private corporation. It is totally independent of any health plan, insurer or other health care entity. We work only for patients, focusing on helping patients and their families in times of crisis -- or when you just need the answer to a health care question.
The following lists a few examples that describe how calling HSM's patient advocacy program can help your Fund, employer and family:
- When you or someone in your family is diagnosed with a serious medical condition, such as cancer, heart problems, or a have a serious injury.
- When you are concerned about whether your diagnosis is accurate and complete.
- When you and doctor are considering or evaluating different teatments for your medical condition or injury. (Remember most doctors can only tell you about the diagnostic and treatment options offered by their affiliated clinics and hospitals.
- When you want information about the experience of various physicians and hospitals in treating your condition.
- When you are choosing a doctor or hospital for any type of care and you want objective and relevant information about their experience with your condition.
